What are you waiting for?

Ken and Lynnette Lutz have owned this property for many years, while Ken taught high school, and they mined sapphires during the summers. It was a dream to one day create a getaway cabin on this heavenly piece of land, and the dream has finally come true. They hope you will be as excited as they are to experience this unique opportunity, to immerse yourself in a bit of history while surrounded by nature’s beauty, and come away refreshed and rejuvenated !

The cabin sits overlooking the creek with an entire wall of windows dedicated to the view. It is located on historic property that was once the headquarters of the American Gem Syndicate, a sapphire mine in production in the early 1900s. Private and secluded you will enjoy the tranquility of the area, while being only a short drive from the lovely town of Philipsburg, Montana. Visit www.philipsburg.mt.com.

Off the grid, the cabin is solar powered, and allows you total peace and quiet, with no television or telephone. State of the art high density Styrofoam panel construction of the cabin allows for very high insulation, providing cool temperatures in summer, and warm evenings in winter, without the hassle of chopping and hauling wood. The gorgeous propane “ woodstove “ provides you with a lovely flame to snuggle up by, while you admire the wood flooring, walls, beams and accents, all made from locally sawn timbers. With 2 levels, 3 bedrooms and a dorm area, kitchen, living room, mud room, one full bath on the main floor and a half bath upstairs, it has plenty of room for a relaxing time for everyone.

If you want to do more than sit on the decks and listen to the wind in the pines, you can take part in the many activities of the area. In summer, step out the door and walk a few feet to fly fish, or drive a short distance and you will be on the Main Rock Creek. Contact a local outfitter for a day of fishing or for a horseback ride or camping experience. Biking, hiking, birdwatching, stargazing, rockhounding, mining, shopping, it’s all there, and more !  Winter activities are right out the door as well. If you have a snowmobile, or enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing, you’re in the right country, while downhill skiing is close by at Discovery Ski Area.
